We will be exploring the role of Black women in the liberation struggle, focusing on Queen Nanny from Jamaica; Queen Nzinga from Angola; Yaa Asantewaa from Ghana; and Claudia Jones who was from Trinidad but died in Britain. Come along if you want to learn and have a discussion about the importance of these strong Black women to the movement.

We will also be launching our new Black history booklet ‘Power of the movement: Pioneers of Black liberation’ which has a brief introduction to 17 figures from the history of Black liberation struggles. The booklet is a great read for anyone interested in learning about lesser known figures from our history and will cost just £2 to buy, with all proceed to going to the work of OBU. Admission is free but donations welcome.
