Black History Events @ Birmingham Library

The Library of Birmingham is pleased to present its Black History Month programme for 2013.  Please see the attached information;

 

Black History Month 2013 @Library of Birmingham

Marking the first Black History Month event programme at the newly opened Library of Birmingham, the event brings together people from different communities to share experiences of projects and programmes they have been involved in, and experiences of those working within the field of Black History and Black History Month itself. There will also be opportunities to hear from the Heritage Lottery Fund regarding funding programmes and opportunities.

Vanley Burke: Making an Archive – Making History

Vanley Burke is an internationally renowned artist, photographer, collector and documenter who has made  a critical and influential intervention within the cultural field of History/Black History and Heritage, and its representation. He talks about his work, its beginnings and opportunities for the future.

Thursday 31st October @6:00pm – 8:00pm

 

(there is a small £5 charge for each event)
