Many Faces, One City

Are you interested in celebrating the contribution of migrants to Birmingham?

Would you like to learn new skills in writing, photography, video, and social media?
Then join Migrant Voice’s Many Faces, One City project.
Come take part in fun, practical creative workshops on writing articles/conducting interviews, taking photos, shooting videos, using social media. Participants will produce stories that capture the contributions migrants have made to the city and launch them at a public event.
This project is open to all – migrants, refugees and asylum seekers and those from the host and established communities

Tuesday 3rd February 6.00 – 8pm (video)
Tuesday 10th February 6.00 – 8pm (using social media platforms to promote the work)
Tuesday 17th February 6.00 – 8pm. Master planning session

Between 24th February and mid- March (dates to be confirmed) we will be arranging some 1-1 mentoring sessions for anyone who wishes to get support from workshop

We are aiming to produce ten migrant stories to be shared with a wider audience on an on line platform as well as holding a public launch event in June.
All training is free of charge, participants will be expected to attend all workshops. Some additional time to produce the stories (interview people, take photos, videos, write, etc.) will be required. There is a limited number of bursaries for those who are unwaged for travel expenses.
