Birchfield is one of 150 Big Local areas in England to receive £1million over a ten year period to help residents make a significant and lasting positive difference to the area where they live. It’s about bringing together all the local talents, skills and energy of individuals, groups and organisations to make the area an even better place to live. Birchfield Big Local is about to start its fifth year and the resident-led Big Local Partnership would like to appoint a new Volunteer Co-ordinator to continue to promote and support a wide range of voluntary activity in the Birchfield Big Local area. Role description:
The Volunteer Co-ordinator will work alongside the Community Development Worker and Big Local Partnership to facilitate opportunities for local people to engage in volunteering within the Birchfield Big Local area. The role will involve recruiting volunteers and matching them to volunteering opportunities locally, as well as motivating and supporting volunteers to ensure that the experience is an empowering process open to all. The person appointed will be employed through BVSC who act as the Local Trusted Organisation for Birchfield Big Local.
