A space for Black women to connect, share, heal, and uplift each other. Join us every last Thursday of the month for real conversations, powerful connections, and collective growth. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Together, we rise.
Past Activities
Singing Story
A fun-filled community music and literacy experience featuring engaging stories, craft activities, guest artists, and a shared lunch for families. Join us every last Thursday of the month—each session inspired by an exciting children’s book. Funded by National Lottery Players.
Commonwealth and UK Sustainable Development Training
A training for young leaders to develop projects alongside the Sustanable Development Goals.
Express U
A radio project empowering young people (ages 6-18) in Derby to voice their feelings, hopes, and musical passions. Through 12 engaging sessions, participants gain broadcasting skills and showcase their talents on Derby Sound Community Radio. Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund (Power To Change – CCLORS).
Palava Tree
A supportive community initiative exploring mental health, physical wellness, lifestyle, and the impacts of COVID-19. It offers a safe space to discuss experiences, combat isolation, and encourages critical reflection through peer support, equipping participants with practical tools for healthier living.
On the Sideline
This Derby-based initiative highlights the overlooked stories of Black soldiers in the British East and West African Campaigns during WWI. Through photography workshops and museum visits, participants discover untold histories, culminating in a community-created booklet supported by local partners and historians.
