The Event

This event is the first screening of Through The Lens of Hip-Hop: UK Women, in short, it’s the premiere!

On viewing, you will see the UK female Hip-hop community speak on issues of feminism, identity, race, hip-hop education, women in the music industry and more.

Presented in insightful personal narratives/reflections through interviews of an intergenerational nature, bringing from margin to centre, the much obscured, but very present hip-hop feminist sensibility here in the UK.
The team behind the film will be around to chat with, and some of the participants in the film will also be present for you to mix and mingle with.
At conclusion of film, there will be a wonderful panel discussion, followed by a raffle!

Synopsis

Through the Lens of Hip-Hop: UK Women is a Curved Marginz (CM) production and falls under the banner of CM visibility projects #CMVP. Through the Lens of Hip-Hop: UK Women aims to highlight and validate the voices of women from the hip-hop community in the UK through the production of a short documentary series.
